The Faculty of Nautical Studies of Barcelona and Barcelona Nàutic Clúster have reached an agreement to enable companies and organisations associated to the Cluster to receive final-year students to carry out their end-of-degree projects.
This will allow students to perform a research project based on real objectives from a more professional and less academic viewpoint. For companies this could be a good opportunity to consider making improvements in specific areas, to enter the world of research and to open new lines of development.
An end-of-degree project is an academic project in which students have to show their ability to grasp much of the knowledge and skills acquired during their university studies. The Faculty of Nautical Studies offers companies the possibility for students to sign a University - Enterprise cooperation agreement to perform an end-of-degree project if they have to dedicate a large number of hours to it. Similarly, companies may also enter into a confidentiality agreement if the results obtained concern intellectual property.
Any companies interested in taking on a student to perform an end-of-degree project may get in touch with the coordinators of the courses of the Faculty of Nautical Studies. For further information, see the sector on "Courses and training" on the Cluster's website.
A commitment to specialised knowledge
This cooperation agreement is in addition to the one the company already signed with the BCN Formació Professional (Vocational Training) Foundation, which allowed Cluster associates to request students enrolled in vocational training centres in Barcelona for on-the-job training placements. Signing these agreements exemplifies Barcelona Nautical Cluster's commitment to specialised knowledge, R&D+i and training, which is one of its strategic lines of action.
