The Third Nautical Congress will be held on 11 and 12 March in Barcelona and will be organised by the National Association of Nautical Companies (Associació Nacional d’Empreses Nàutiques, ANEN), the employers' organisation that brings together 90% of companies in the nautical sector in Spain. The event aims to discuss prospects for the nautical market in Spain in areas such as taxation, training and new nautical marketing trends.
This year's Congress aims to go one step further and to analyse issues that are changing the current scenario for recreational sailing. The event will feature several speakers from the business, professional and public administration sectors to give a cross-cutting overview.
The speakers will include Toni Tió, President of Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, who will chair the round table on "The Spain brand in the nautical sector" on Wednesday 11 March. Also participating in the discussion will be Iñigo Toledo, designer and director of Barracuda Yacht Design; Diego Colón de Carvajal, CEO of Astilleros de Mallorca; and sail designer Juan Meseguer. The conference will evaluate the actions and proposals put forward by nautical companies and sub-sectors to enhance the sector in our country.
The conference will also address the legislative, tax and training challenges with various representatives of the Public Administration and Laia Tutzó, Olympic yachtswoman and director of Barcelona International Sailing Center, will propose new communication and marketing strategies.
The event will be held at Torre Telefónica and members of Barcelona Nautical Cluster are offered a subsidised fee of 35 euros in the registration fee. Registration must be made through the ANEN website indicating the option "Participating Organisations" under "Form of registration".
