The Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, in collaboration with Costa Cruceros and the Port of Barcelona, has awarded two projects in the second edition of B-Blue.
The winners are part of the 12 start-ups that have participated in this second edition, and have received training sessions, networking, personalized tutorials and mentoring from the collaborators of the program: Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Clúster Nàutic, Seastainable Venturas, Aigües de Barcelona and Aticco.
Solar Box has been recognized as the most innovative project, awarded by the Port of Barcelona, for having developed its own technology for electric mobility for the nautical sector.
For its part, Titanium has been considered the most Sustainable project, in this case, by Costa Cruceros and has proposed a project that prevents biofouling on any submerged surface without chemical residues.
In both cases, the projects represent a benefit for the marine ecosystem, with high business potential. Each has received a check with an economic value of 10,000 euros, aimed at consolidating the projects.
Between the two editions of B-Blue, 2022 and 2023, 23 new projects have been launched in these emerging and increasingly consolidated blue sectors. All projects have as a priority to work with innovation but always favoring the sustainability of our oceans.
