Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, in collaboration with the Barcelona Capital Nautical Foundation and Barcelona Activa, organized a key event for the future of the nautical sector in Catalonia, with the aim of analyzing current and future training needs in the context of the decarbonization of recreational boating.
The meeting, held at the Foundation’s headquarters, brought together representatives from leading public institutions and educational bodies such as the Barcelona City Council, the Department of Education of the Generalitat, various educational consortia, and training centers linked to the sea and port logistics.
During the session, participants engaged in strategic reflection on how to steer vocational training to respond to the ecological transition of the nautical sector.
The event served to share existing training initiatives, identify emerging new needs, and agree on three priority action lines: the promotion of sustainable nautical vocations, the redefinition of professional profiles, and a communication strategy to spread progress.
This collaborative working space is part of a broader process that will continue on May 30 with a new session in the #BlendedLearningABordo format, combining onshore and onboard sailing activities, with the aim of deepening strategic actions and fostering collective intelligence to tackle the challenges of the blue economy.
