This third training session of the Naut-EC project has begun with the presentation of it by Ariadna Benet who has raised the circular economy lines that can be developed in the field of tourist and sports ports.
Then, Josep Maria Masip and Míriam Villa, from the general direction of environmental quality and climate change of the Catalan government, presented the new category of the Distinction of environmental quality guarantee for centers of maritime activities.
So far the badge has 29 different categories of products and services. This new category is focused on CAMs (Maritime Activity Centres): nautical academies, diving centers and nautical centres. To be able to acquire this category of the badge, the ports evaluate the awareness and protection of the environment, waste management, mobility, purchases and use of products and materials, energy saving and efficiency, water saving and environmental ratings.
Finally, we learned about the environmental commitment of the Port of Sitges. It currently has 4 environmental quality badges: the blue flag award since 1998, ISO 9001 and 14001, biosphere and EMAS. These differences have had a direct impact on factors such as the internal management of the port, the reduction of the environmental impact, the promotion of the environmental commitment of the users and activities of the port, the collaboration in environmental proposals with external entities and the promotion of sustainability of the facilities and services.
