Agustín Zulueta: "the Barcelona edition of the America's Cup must be the most sustainable and innovative".

The Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, with the collaboration of INDESCAT (Catalan Sports Cluster), MAV (Catalan Cluster of Advanced Materials of Catalonia) and SECPHO (Cluster of Innovation and Technology), hosted by the Port of Barcelona, have organized a session for its members about the America's Cup.

The session, led by the naval engineer Agustín Zulueta, has served to make an in-depth presentation of the project, to learn about the technical needs of the project and the contribution that the competition makes to the city. The Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, together with the other three clusters, want to act as catalysts of the opportunities that this event will generate in the city.

The event was presented by the President of the Port of Barcelona, Mr. Damià Calvet, who has claimed the maritime and port culture of Barcelona and the channeling role of the Clúster Nàutic. During the event, Calvet announced the transformation of the FNOB in the Foundation that will coordinate the project and the role of main host of the Port of Barcelona, patron of the entity. Calvet has advised partners to use the Nautical Cluster to convey their projects and weave alliances with the sporting competition.

From the Barcelona Clúster Nàutic, its vice president, Mr. Joan Colldecarrera, emphasized that one of the priority objectives of the organization is to promote public-private initiative. Colldecarrera highlighted that the entity wanted to seek complicity with other clusters in the country to carry out events like today's, which are a great opportunity to propose technological projects to the participating teams and especially to start working with the leadership of the cluster on the legacy of the competition in the city.

 Engineer Agustín Zulueta, a participant in different editions of the America's Cup, explained how the competition works. He emphasized the commitment that represents for the city and the capacity that Barcelona has to be the most sustainable and innovative edition. He emphasized the novelty that this edition will host a competition for young people and one for women, as well as the use of support boats powered by hydrogen.
