The Barcelona Clúster Nàutic has organized the online session "We listen to the industry", focused on sharing information on the expectations of the season and on putting on the table proposals that can help to emerge stronger from the crisis.
In addition to Toni Tió, president of the Cluster, the speakers have been Joan Colldecarrera (Port Vell), Ignacio Erroz (Marina Port Vell), Xiqui Mas (Varador 2000 and Mataró Marina Barcelona), Belén Martín (Evolution Yachting), Joan Farell (Charter & Dreams) and Alex Chumillas (Tax Marine).
According to the data provided by the speakers, the drop in nautical activity due to the coronavirus pandemic and the state of alarm is between 30 and 50 percent, depending on the subsector. In the charter subsector, after a few months of shutdown, an intense summer is expected due to the number of bookings that are being confirmed, even with new clients who value the safety of this kind of holidays.
The members of the Barcelona Clúster Nàutic who have participated in the online session as listeners have had the opportunity to ask questions. For example, some of them have been interested in "Covid free" certification systems.
